Thanks for your support in helping Tracy during and after her breast cancer surgery and treatment. We all know Tracy’s always been there for us – many of our kids have learned to snatch the flag and check for rips under her careful guidance, and we’ve all enjoyed an end of year gig at the surf or soccer club thanks to Tracy. Thanks for showing you care and helping out. Absolutely every effort counts.

We know from the research undertaken by BCNA, that for those diagnosed with breast cancer, the cost can be an intolerable burden, with far-reaching impacts on patients and survivors, and their families. These costs usually run into the thousands of dollars, and can easily reach the tens of thousands of dollars if life-extending drugs that are not approved for the PBS are purchased. For women like Tracy, breast cancer can force them to rely on family, friends or charities for the first time in their lives. https://www.bcna.org.au/media/6656/sotn-report-lowres.pdf

If you’d like to volunteer to help with dinners, lifts for Zane, or school lunches for the boys as Tracey recovers from surgery, you can do this here: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/l1zv9r

If you’d prefer to support Tracy financially to reduce bill shock, help cover the gap between Medicare and cost of service provision, allied health costs, additional screen and diagnostic workup (notably breast MRI), that would be equally as helpful – and caring. Thank you.

What we know is one quarter of women with breast cancer pay more than $17,200 in out-of-pocket costs in the five years after their diagnosis. These figures do not take into account lost wages if a woman needs to take time off work or reduce her hours because of breast cancer treatment. Thanks for helping reduce that burden for Tracy. It’s a big deal.
